Are you an experienced financial professional looking for a challenging but rewarding role. Our client is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Financial Controller to join there dynamic team based in Frome.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • To work proactively with the Finance & Administration Director and wider management to ensure all policies and procedures are followed and no aspect of the business is financially compromised
  • Management of a team of 5 and responsible for all aspects of finance across both UK sites
  • Produce long term plans, budgets and forecasts to map and analyse and the performance of the Company
  • Implement, review and standardise control procedures across both sites in the UK
  • Produce all weekly, monthly and annual management and financial reporting including year-end statutory accounts, develop new systems as appropriate to gain efficiencies, speed of output and standardisation of presentation
  • Ensure that the accounting records and financial control procedures are maintained at a level which meets all internal, group and external audit requirements
  • To monitor cash flow and currency requirements for the clients UK sites, providing cash flow forecasting as required
  • Monitor and Implement control systems and procedures in order to allow the control and allow reduction of spend. Drive budget and forecast targets, following up regularly with each of the departmental heads across both UK sites
  • Monitor and analyse cost performance and KPIs versus budget and standards. Develop and enhance existing systems, also develop and introduce new systems where necessary and appropriate to facilitate regular accurate recommendations are made to the factory manager

Candidate Profile:

  • Professional approach
  • Ability to cope with changes to workload and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to work calmly toward deadlines, work accurately under pressure
  • Flexible can-do attitude and a good sense of humour

Background

  • Strong technical accountant with previous experience
  • Qualified/Part Qualified with recognised professional accounting body (ACCA/CIMA) or QBE accompanied by good general standard of education
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and capable of explaining financial information to commercial, operational and other non-finance staff
  • Experience of credit and transactional management desirable with the ability to prioritise and organise a large work load
  • Experience of working in a FMCG manufacturing environment, with 24/7 activity an advantage
  • A good general understanding of IT systems and software, proficiency in MS Excel is of particular importance
