Despatch Operative

We have a vacancy for a Despatch Operative at our  clients facility based in Melksham on a temporary to permanent basis.

The role will be treble shift, 40 hours per week. Rate of Pay is £13.85 per hour /  £28,804.70PA

Ideally the candidate will have FLT experience, but we will also deliver training to the right candidate if required.

Role objectives:

• Carry out despatch duties in a safe, consistent and reliable manner
• Ensure finished goods are packed, ready for despatch and all relevant paperwork is completed correctly and available as required
• Load vehicles safely and according to instructions
• Maintain forklift is good working order and ensure daily safety checks are completed
• Operate the pallet wrapping machine
• Identify areas for improvement and put forward new ideas
• Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices
• Maintain good housekeeping

Key competencies :

• Forklift Truck License Counterbalance and Reach preferable but not essential as full training will be provided
• Work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently
• Numeracy and literacy
• Ability to work according to instructions
